FULLERTON, Calif.—Blaire Fleming led all hitters with 14 kills and hit .379 to lead the San José State volleyball team to its first win of the year, 3-0 over Louisiana Tech, at the Fullerton Invitational at Titan Gym.
- Fleming had her 14 kills on 29 attempts and had just three hitting errors.
- She added six digs and three block assists in the victory.
- Nayeli Ti'a added eight kills, 11 digs and three blocks (2 solo, one assist) for SJSU.
- Mari Lawton led the team with four block assists.
- Alessia Buffagni led the team with 13 digs and added eight assists.
- Brooke Slusser had 24 assists, five digs and one block assist.
- Randilyn Reeves and Emma Testi made their debuts in a Spartan uniform.
- The Spartans led the entire first set but used a 12-4 run in the second set and a 9-4 run in the third set to sweep Louisiana Tech.
- With the win, San José State has a 19-2 lead in the all-time series and has won five straight against the Bulldogs.
UP NEXT – The Spartans continue at the Fullerton Invitational on Saturday with a match against host Cal State Fullerton beginning at 1 p.m. The match will be shown on ESPN+.
