USAFA, Colo. - Nick Nash and Jackson Canaan each caught a touchdown, while Jordan Pollard had a career-high 17 tackles to lead the Spartans (2-0, 1-0 MW) in a 17-7 victory at Air Force (1-1, 0-1 MW) on Saturday from Falcon Stadium presented by Habbas Law.
- The Spartan's victory was their first-ever win at Air Force. SJSU is 2-0 for the first time since 2020.
- Nick Nash recorded his third receiving and fourth total touchdown of the season with his 18-yard touchdown reception on the Spartans’ opening drive.
- Nash tallied seven receptions and 90 yards in the game to lead the team. He now has 17 receptions for 260 yards on the season.
- Jackson Canaan’s 58-yard touchdown in the first quarter was his first touchdown since Nov. 19, 2022, at Utah State and the second of his career.
- Canaan’s 88 receiving yards set a new career high.
- The 58-yard touchdown was Emmett Brown’s longest pass of his career and the longest touchdown pass for the Spartans’ since Nick Starkel’s 65-yard touchdown pass to Charles Ross on Aug. 28, 2021 against Southern Utah.
- Brown threw two touchdowns in the game and now has five passing touchdowns on the season.
- Brown also threw for 262 yards in the game. He now has 560 passing yards on the season.
- Pollard recorded 17 tackles in the game, leading the team and setting a new career high. He also notched one tackle for a loss and a pass breakup.
- Pollard’s 17 tackles were the most in a game for SJSU since Kyle Harmon recorded 18 tackles on November 13, 2021, against Utah State.
- Robert Rahimi’s interception in the fourth quarter was his first of the season and seventh of his career.
- Jordan Cobbs’ fourth-quarter interception was his first of the season and the third of his career.
- Soane Toia recorded seven tackles in the game, setting a new career high. Ethan Powell’s six tackles also set a career-high.
- Trent Carrizosa’s 54-yard punt in the first quarter set a new career high.
- Kyler Halvorsen’s 34-yard field goal in the fourth quarter was his first made field goal of the season.
- Lamar Radcliffe recorded his first career rush in the game.
- This is the earliest the Spartans have opened conference play since the 2015 season when they opened at Air Force, also in week two.
