SAN JOSE, Calif.—Emma Testi had a season-high five service aces and helped the Spartans win the second set with her serving, but the San José State volleyball team fell to UNLV, 3-1 (25-22, 21-25, 25-19, 26-24) Saturday afternoon in a Mountain West match at Spartan Gym.
- Testi recorded four of her service aces in the second set on consecutive serving opportunities.
- The Spartans trailed 14-19 when Testi served the next seven points for SJSU. Her aces gave SJSU points 17, 18, 19 and 20 to take the lead at 20-19 and hold on to win the second set 25-21.
- San José State had a season-best 12 aces in the match.
- Blaire Fleming led the team with 16 kills and recorded her second consecutive and fourth overall double-double this season with 10 digs. She also had three aces and a block assist.
- Brooke Bryant hit .385 for the match with 12 kills on 26 attempts and only two errors.
- Brooke Slusser also hit .368 with 9 kills on 19 attempts and two errors.
- Slusser added 22 assists, six digs, three blocks and an ace.
- Alessia Buffagni also had 10 digs and three assists.
- Ava Martin had eight assists for the second consecutive match and recorded two digs.
- The Spartans trailed 10-1 in the fourth set and slowly crept back in the set, tying the score at 24-24 on a Bryant kill before UNLV got the final two points to win 26-24.
