Spartans Shutout Opponent for the Third Time in Four Matches in Draw Against UNLV

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Edgar Guerra earned his fourth shutout of the season and his third in the Spartans last four games to lead the San José State (3-4-6, 2-0-2 WAC) men's soccer team in a 0-0 draw against UNLV (3-6-3, 0-1-3 WAC) at the Spartan Soccer Complex. 

  • Edgar Guerra held UNLV scoreless, recording his third shutout in the Spartans’ last four games. 
  • Guerra now leads the conference in shutouts with four on the season.
  • The Spartans outshot the Rebels 11-3 in the match and had four shots on goal. 
  • Iniguez led the Spartans with four shots and three shots on goal in the match. 
  • Gilberto Rivera tallied three shots and Christian Powell recorded a shot on goal in the match.
  • Eamon Fakhri earned his first career start.
  • With eight points, the Spartans sit in third place in the conference standings.
  • The Spartans have now earned a result in their last five matches.
