Albuquerque, N.M. - Taylor Phillips scored her first goal of the season to lead San José State women's soccer (0-11-5, 0-5-3 MW) in a 1-1 draw against New Mexico (7-4-4, 3-3-2 MW) on Sunday afternoon from UNM Soccer Complex in Albuquerque, N.M.

  • In the 29th minute, Phillips fired a shot into the bottom corner of the goal that just got by the goalkeeper and into the back of the net for the senior’s first goal of the season.
  • Phillips's first goal of the season is the 12th goal of her career. 
  • Phillips’s goal is her first since she scored against Colorado State on Oct. 8, 2023. 
  • Phillips currently leads the team in shots on goal with 17; her three shots on goal today are a season-high.
  • The Spartans outshot the Lobos in the first half 6 to 3 
  • Bella Flocchini took five shots with three on goal, setting new single-game season highs for the second consecutive game for the senior. 
  • Tiana Cello, Tatiana Cunningham, and Cynthia Flores each took one shot in this game.
  • Shayla Sugai had seven saves on the day in goal. 
  • Isabella Shallou-Enes, Kyah Coady, Tasia Kravitz, Cunningham, Flocchini, and Sugai played the full 90 minutes in this match.
