Spartans Win 11 Races on Saturday

SANTA CRUZ, Calif.—Five Spartans won at least one race as the San José State women’s swimming and diving team scored 162 points to win over Pacific (88) and UC Santa Cruz (30) Saturday afternoon.

  • Mya Azzopardi won the 200 free with a season-best 1:52.51 and the 100 free with another season-best 51.81.
  • Ellie Shorten won the 100 backstroke at 57.70, and the 200 backstroke at 2:04.45.    
  • Vilma Lindberg won the 100 breaststroke at 1:04.40, and 200 breaststroke at a season-best 2:19.37.
  • Lais Gasparini e Silva won the 50 free at 23.54.
  • Veronica Gourley won the 100 butterfly with a season-best 57.10, and 200 IM with a season-best 2:07.71.

UP NEXT – The Spartans compete at UC Davis on November 8 at 2 p.m.
