FRESNO, Calif.—Five Spartans finished in the top 10 Saturday morning as the San José State women’s swimming and diving team finished fifth at the two-day Fresno State Invitational.
Veronica Gourley started the Spartans in top-10 finishes as she was eighth in the 100 individual medley at 59.45.
Ellie Shorten finished eighth in the 200 backstroke at 2:05.85.
Two Spartans were eighth and ninth in 100 freestyle – Mya Azzopardi at 52.20 and Laís Gasparrini e Silva at 52.37.
Vilma Lindberg was seventh in the 200 breaststroke at 2:20.28.
UP NEXT – The Spartans travel to Bakersfield next weekend for two meets beginning on Friday with the CSUB Sprint Classic beginning at noon, followed by the Roadrunner Invite on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. Admission is free on both days at the Hillman Aquatic Center on the Cal State Bakersfield campus.
