SAN JOSE, Calif.—Serving was key in San José State’s win over Colorado State, with Emma Testi leading SJSU with a season-best seven aces, as the Spartan volleyball team won 3-2 (27-25, 18-25, 25-17, 19-25, 15-10) Saturday afternoon inside Spartan Gym.
- The match-winning point came on a Blaire Fleming ace, her only one of the match.
- In all, the Spartans had a season-best 16 aces, the fifth time SJSU has recorded double-digit aces this season.
- On Senior Day, Fleming led the team with 24 kills and had her seventh double-double of the year with a team-best 10 digs.
- Nayeli Ti’a added 14 kills, six digs, three aces and two blocks.
- Brooke Slusser ran the offense, recording 48 assists and two kills. She added two aces, nine digs and a block.
- Testi led the team on blocks with five (1-4), while Brooke Bryant contributed four blocks (1-3).
- Jade Epps hit a team-best .389 in the match with a season-high nine kills and added two blocks.
- In a battle Saturday, the Spartans came from behind in set one, trailing 19-12 at one point and held off four Rams’ set points to win 27-25 on an Epps kill.
- The Spartans took an early 7-6 lead in the third on a Bryant kill and won 25-17 on another Epps kill.
- In the fifth set, Colorado State got out to an early 4-1 lead. Epps gave SJSU an 8-7 lead on her ninth kill of the match, and the Spartans won the set 15-10 to take the match.

UP NEXT – The Spartans host Fresno State Tuesday night in the team’s final regular-season match before traveling to the 2024 Mountain West Tournament in Las Vegas. First serve Tuesday night is set for 7 p.m., in Spartan Gym inside the YUH Complex. Admission is free for all fans.
