Spartans Come Up Short Against Seattle in the WAC Tournament Championship

PHOENIX - Ronin Axelson recorded a career high six saves to lead the fifth seeded San José State (6-8-7, 3-3-3 WAC) men's soccer team in a 3-0 loss to the number two seed Seattle (12-4-3, 7-1-1 WAC) at Grand Canyon University Stadium in the WAC Tournament championship game. 

  • Angel Iniguez, Gilberto Rivera and Cameron Cook were all named to the WAC All-Tournament Team.
  • With six saves in the game, Axelson now has 17 saves on the season across six starts.
  • Cook recorded two shots on goal.
  • Jordi Tortell Daly also tallied a shot on goal in the game.
  • The finals match marked the second time the Spartans have advanced to the finals in the last three seasons.
