Spartans Win over Stanford as Nash Sets Single Season TD Record Presented by Webcor

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Nick Nash had two touchdown catches to set a new SJSU all-time record for touchdown receptions in a season to lead San José State football (7-5, 3-4 MW) in a 34-31 win over Stanford (3-9, 2-6 ACC ) in the Bill Walsh Legacy Game presented by Webcor on Friday afternoon from CEFCU Stadium.

  • This was the Spartans' first win against Stanford since 2006 and their first win against an ACC school. 
  • This win marks SJSU’s first against a "power four" school since Sept. 21, 2019, against Arkansas.
  • The Spartans finish the regular season 5-2 at home. 
  • The Spartans had 19,117 in attendance, which is the second-most this season.
  • This is the first time the Spartans have seven or more wins in three straight seasons since 1980-82 and the first time they've had seven or more wins in four of five years since 1978-82.
  • Nash's second touchdown catch of the game set an SJSU all-time record for touchdown receptions in a single season with 16, passing Chandler Jones, who previously held the record with 15.
  • Nash would finish with eight receptions for 91 yards and two touchdown receptions. 
  • Nash's two touchdown catches now give him 16 on the season and 25 for his career. 
  • Nash is now three touchdown receptions away from Chandler Jones’ SJSU all-time record for most career touchdown receptions.
  • Nash currently leads the nation once again in touchdown receptions (16), yards (1382) and receptions (104).
  • Walker Eget went 33-for-49 with 385 passing yards and four touchdown passes.

  • Treyshun Hurry finished with four catches for 71 yards and one touchdown reception. 
  • Hurry’s touchdown catch late in the fourth quarter to give the Spartans the lead they wouldn't relinquish was his second of the season and third of his career.
  • Justin Lockhart would finish with four receptions for 48 yards and one touchdown catch. 
  • Lockhart's touchdown catch in the third quarter is his fifth of the season and 10th of his career.  
  • Lockhart’s five touchdown catches this season is a career-high for the redshirt senior.
  • Lamar Radcliffe led the Spartans in rushing this game with seven rushes for a career-high 43 yards.
  • Radcliffe’s 12-yard rush in the fourth quarter is the longest of his career.
  • Kyler Halvorsen’s 45-yard field goal to end the first half is a career-long for the senior.
  • Halvorsen’s 45-yard field goal is the longest field goal since Oct. 15, 2021, when Matt Mercurio kicked a 48-yarder vs No. 24 SDSU.
  • Halvorsen's 4-for-4 in extra points now gives him 79 consecutive extra points made, which is an SJSU record.
  • Taniela Latu led the Spartans' defense with eight total tackles, including one solo tackle in this game.
  • Robert Rahimi finished with five total tackles, including one solo tackle, one pass breakup, and one interception.
  • Rahimi's interception in the first quarter was his fifth of the season and the 11th of his career. 
  • Rahimi is now tied for the lead in the Mountain West in interceptions and tied for third in the nation.
  • DJ Harvey finished with seven total tackles, including six solo tackles, one tackle for loss, and one interception. 
  • Harvey’s interception in the second quarter is his fourth of the season and fourth of his career. 
  • Isiah Revis would finish with seven total tackles, including five solo tackles, two tackles for loss, and one interception. 
  • Revis’ two tackles for loss set a new career-high.
  • Revis’ interception in the fourth quarter to give SJSU the ball back with two minutes left is the second of the season and his career. 
  • Revis has had an interception in back-to-back games.  
  • The Spartans’ three-team picks in this game give them 20-team interceptions on the season, which leads the nation.
  • Jalen Apalit-Williams tallied his first career sack in the third quarter.
