SAN JOSE, Calif. - San José State football has promoted Billy Ray Stutzmann to wide receivers coach, announced by head football coach Ken Niumatalolo on Tuesday. Stutzmann was a senior offensive analyst for the Spartans during the 2024 campaign and helped coach the offense to 4,183 passing yards, which was good for first in the Mountain West Conference and fifth in the nation, averaging 321.8 yards per game. The 4,183 passing yards are good for third in San José State's single-season history.
Stutzmann also helped wide receiver Nick Nash become the first unanimous All-American in SJSU history on his way to being the first SJSU Biletnikoff Award Finalist and only the fourth player in FBS college football history to earn the regular season triple crown by leading the country in receptions (104), yards (1,382), and touchdowns (16).
