SAN JOSE, Calif. - Donavan Yap scored a season-high 22 points and hit a career-high six three pointers to lead the San José State (7-10, 0-5 MW) men's basketball team in a 85-78 loss to No. 25 Utah State (15-1, 5-0 MW) at the Provident Credit Union Event Center.
- Yap’s six threes are the most made by a Spartan since Tibet Gorener made seven threes on Jan. 16, 2024, against Fresno State.
- Latrell Davis scored 20 points in 22 minutes, marking the third time this season he scored 20 or more.
- This was the fifth game this season the Spartans had two players who scored 20 points or more.
- Davis knocked down three threes in the game, tying his career-high.
- Will McClendon tallied a career-high eight assists. His eight assists are tied for the most recorded by a Spartan this season.
- McClendon also scored 12 points in the game. He has now recorded double-digit points in 12 out of 16 games played this season.
- Robert Vaihola grabbed 11 rebounds in the game, seven of which were offensive, setting a new season-high.
- Vaihola also recorded six points, three assists, two blocks and a steal.
- Josh Uduje notched 11 points in the game. Uduje has now scored double-digits in 14 out of 17 games this year.
- The Spartans made a season-high 14 threes in the game.
