LUBBOCK, Texas – Simone Johnson took first with a season best in the Women’s Triple Jump, and Katharina Graman finished in third, while two more Spartans from the Jumps squad had top-five finishes leading San José State Track & Field on the second and final day of competition, at the Stan Scott Invitational and Multis hosted by Texas Tech on Saturday, Feb. 1, from Sports Performance Center.
- Johnson competing in the Women’s Triple Jump won the event taking first place with a new season best mark of 13.43m (44-0 ¾).
- Johnson’s mark currently puts her in sixth place in the nation on the indoor championship qualifying list.
- Graman, making her season debut in the Women’s Triple Jump, finished in third place with a mark of 12.57m (41-3).
- Camryn Clark, also competing in the Women’s Triple Jump, finished with a mark of 11.36m (37-3 ¼)
- SJSU’s Women’s Triple Jump squad currently ranks fourth in the national event squad rankings.
- Lina Schubert, competing in the Women’s High Jump, finished in fifth with a season-best mark of 1.75m (5-8 ¾ ).
- Deshawn Banks competing in the Men’s High Jump took fourth place with a season-best mark of 2.12m (6-11 ½).
- Alyssa Bean, competing in the Women’s 200m finished first in her heat and sixth overall with a time of 23.75.
- Savana Dutton, running in the Women’s 200m, finished with a time of 26.14.
- Christopher Coats, running in the Men’s 200m finished first in his heat and eleventh overall with a time of 21.24.
- Cameron Tarver, running in the Men’s 200m, finished second in his heat and eighth overall with a time of 21.16 seconds.
- Nathaniel Guillory running in the Men’s 200m finished with a time of 22.25.
UP NEXT: The Spartans will rest for two weeks before traveling to Albuquerque, N.M. to compete in the Don Kirby Invite hosted by New Mexico on Feb. 14-15 from Albuquerque Convention Center.
