Spartans to Host San Diego State on CBS Sports Network Presented by Provident Credit Union

SAN JOSE, Calif. -  San José State men’s basketball (12-13, 5-8 MW) will host San Diego State (15-6, 8-4 MW) at the Provident Credit Union Event Center on Tuesday at 8 p.m. PT on CBS Sports Network and KTRB 860 AM, presented by Provident Credit Union.

  • The Spartans are coming off a 79-52 loss on the road to Boise State.
  • The Spartans have won five of their last eight games.
  • The Spartans have not defeated SDSU since Feb. 7, 2017. 
  • The Spartans fell to SDSU 71-68 at Viejas Arena earlier this season (1/28/25). SJSU held a 21 point lead in the first half and was leading for 34:01 of the game.
  • The Spartans' 15 made threes at San Diego State (1/28/25) was the most ever made threes against SDSU in a Mountain West Game.
  • SJSU leads the Mountain West in 3pt. percentage in conference play, shooting .378. The Spartans' 8.92 threes per game in conference play also leads Mountain West. 
  • Latrell Davis and Josh Uduje each scored 30 points against Fresno State (2/4/25), marking the first time in school history they had two 30 point scorers in a game.
  • Davis and Uduje are two of the four players in the Mountain West to score 30+ points in a conference game this season.
  • 11 out of 13 of the Spartans' conference games have been decided by 11 points or less.
  • The Spartans are fourth in the Mountain West in scoring, averaging 74.2 points per game.
  • The Spartans are averaging the second fewest turnovers per game in the Mountain West (10.6).
  • The Spartans are the only Mountain West team to defeat New Mexico this season.
  • SJSU is third in the Mountain West in free throw percentage (.755). Four Spartans, Donavan Yap, Will McClendon, Sadaidriene Hall and Uduje, are shooting over 80 percent from the foul line.
  • The Spartans hit a season-high 15 threes at San Diego State (1/28/25).  They also knocked down 14 threes vs. No. 25 Utah State (1/7/25) and at Fresno State (2/4/25).
  • The Spartans are 10-1 on the season when they shoot better than their opponent and 9-1 when they out rebound their opponent.
  • The Spartans recorded 10 blocks at home vs. Air Force (2/1/25), setting a new Provident Credit Union Event Center all-time record. The Spartans’ 10 blocks was also the most recorded by any team in the Mountain West in a conference game this season.
  • The reigning Mountain West Sixth Man of the Year, Uduje, currently leads the Spartans with 16.4 points per game which is also good for sixth in the Mountain West.
  • Uduje has recorded double-digit points in 20 out of 25 games this season. He has also scored 20+ 11 times this year which is the most in the Mountain West.
  • Uduje became the first Spartan to score 20+ in five consecutive games since Adrian Oliver in 2011. 
  • Uduje is third in the conference in field goal percentage at .505 (153-303 & min. 5 FGM/G average). 
  • Davis is the Spartans' leading scorer off the bench, averaging 11.1 points per game. Davis' 11.1 points per game is the highest in the Mountain West among players who play predominantly off the bench.
  • Davis’ 30 points, 11 made field goals and six made threes against Fresno State were all career-highs (2/4/25). Davis scored 17 of his 30 points in overtime without missing a shot.
  • Davis has scored a combined 107 points on 38-59 shooting from the field and 18-30 from three in his past five games. He has set new career-highs in points in three out of his last five games.
  • McClendon is second on the team in scoring, averaging 12.0 points per game. He has scored double-figures in 17 out of 24 games played this season.
  • McClendon leads the Spartans with 45 made threes on the season. His 1.88 threes per game is good for eighth in the Mountain West. In conference play, McClendon is averaging 2.08 threes per game which is the fifth most in the Mountain West.
  • Robert Vaihola leads the team in rebounding with 6.9 boards per game which is also good for fifth in the conference. Vaihola's 2.21 offensive rebounds per game also ranks third in the Mountain West.
  • Vaihola recorded a career-high seven blocks against Air Force (2/1/25). Vaihola is the first Spartan to record seven blocks in a game since Ibrahima Diallo had eight blocks against Alabama State on Nov. 15, 2022. Seven blocks is also the most recorded by any player in the Mountain West this season.
  • Vaihola's average of 1.69 blocks per game in conference play is second in the Mountain West.
  • Hall recorded a career-high 33 points and 14 made field goals in the Spartans' overtime win vs. Cal Poly (12/14/24). He also notched 11 rebounds, giving him his first double-double of the year.
  • Hall is one of two players in the Mountain West to hit 14 field goals in a game this season (Donovan Dent, New Mexico).
  • The Spartans’ have recorded nine double-doubles on the season (two by Vaihola, two by Hall, two by Sadraque NgaNga, two by Uduje and one by McClendon).
  • Yap scored a season-high 22 points and made a career-high six threes against No. 25 Utah State (1/7/25). Yap and Davis are two of the four players in the Mountain West to hit six or more threes in a conference game this season.
