SAN JOSE, Calif.—Emma Ruzic led all scorers with five goals as the San José State women’s water polo team opened the home portion of the 2025 schedule with a 22-9 victory over Cal State Monterey Bay at the SRAC.
- Ruzic scored three times in the fourth and once in the first and second quarters.
- Darcy Spark added four goals, all in the first quarter, including the first goal of the match on a penalty shot.
- Rose Jensen scored three goals, while Renee Fleming and Bridget Cranley each recorded two goals.
- In total, 11 Spartans scored a goal in the match.
- Tatianna Raffin picked up the win in goal with 12 saves around the cage.
- Raffin also had an assist with a long pass to Sarah Woren in the third quarter.
- The Spartans jumped out to an early 7-2 lead after the first quarter and scored five goals in each of the next three quarters.
UP NEXT – The Spartans continue at home on Sunday with a match against Santa Clara beginning at 11 a.m.
