SEASIDE, Calif.—Darcy Spark led a contingent of Spartans who scored in a 22-8 win for the No. 18 San José State women’s water polo team at Cal State Monterey Bay Sunday afternoon.
- Spark led all scorers with five goals.
- Four other Spartans tallied two or more goals – Emma Ruzic and Rose Jensen each with three, and Nynke Willemsen and Mackenzy Clark with two each.
- Seven other Spartans tallied a goal in the match.
- Goalie Tatianna Raffin was credited with the win as she made 13 saves and had two steals in the win.
- Raffin also scored a goal for SJSU as she closed out the third period to give the team a 15-8 lead.
- Ruzic recorded five assists in the win. Spartan added three assists, and Isabella Adams dished out two assists.
- Jessica Ross and Willemsen each grabbed two steals.
- SJSU held CSUMB scoreless in the fourth quarter and only allowed one goal in the first and third quarters.
- The Spartans have now won seven consecutive matches.
UP NEXT – SJSU opens Mountain Pacific Sports Federation play on Saturday, March 1, against No. 3 UCLA at the SRAC. Admission is free to all.
