Spartans to Host UNLV on NBC Sports California

SAN JOSE, Calif. -  San José State men’s basketball (13-16, 6-11 MW) will take on UNLV (14-13, 8-8 MW) at the Provident Credit Union Event Center on Tuesday at 7 p.m. PT on NBC Sports California, Mountain West Network and KTRB 860 AM.

  • The Spartans are coming off a 82-73 victory over Wyoming on the road. It was the first time in history SJSU won at Wyoming. 
  • The Spartans fell to UNLV 79-73 at the Thomas & Mack Center earlier this season. Five different Spartans scored double-figures in the game.
  • The Spartans' 8.88 threes per game in conference play is second in theMountain West. SJSU is fourth in the Mountain West in 3pt. percentage in conference play, shooting .363.
  • The Spartans are holding opponents to .338 percent from beyond the arc in conference play which is fourth lowest in the conference.
  • The Spartans' 94 points against Fresno State (2/4/25) was the most points they have scored in a conference game since joining the Mountain West in 2013.
  • Davis and Josh Uduje each scored 30 points against Fresno State (2/4/25), marking the first time in school history they had two 30 point scorers in a game.
  • SJSU is third in the Mountain West in free throw percentage (.732).
  • The Spartans are averaging 3.41 blocks per game in conference play which is tied for third in the conference.
  • The Spartans scored 100 points in back-to-back games for the first time in school history (107 vs. Cal Poly & 117 vs. Lincoln).
  • The Spartans hit a season-high 15 threes at San Diego State (1/28/25).  They also knocked down 14 threes vs. No. 25 Utah State (1/7/25) and at Fresno State (2/4/25).

  • The Spartans recorded 10 blocks at home vs. Air Force (2/1/25), setting a new Provident Credit Union Event Center all-time record. The Spartans’ 10 blocks is also tied for the most recorded by any team in the Mountain West in a conference game this season.
  • The reigning Mountain West Sixth Man of the Year, Uduje, currently leads the Spartans with 16.4 points per game which is also good for sixth in the Mountain West.
  • Uduje has scored 20+ 12 times this year which is tied for the most by any player in the Mountain West. He has also recorded double-digit points in 21 out of 27 games played this season. 
  • Uduje became the first Spartan to score 20+ in five consecutive games since Adrian Oliver in 2011. 
  • Uduje went 5-5 from three and scored 25 points at USC (11/20/24). Uduje is the only player in the Mountain West to make five three's on 100 percent 3pt. shooting in a game this season.
  • Uduje is fifth in the conference in field goal percentage at .497 (min. 5 FGM/G average). 
  • Latrell Davis is the Spartans' leading scorer off the bench, averaging 11.6 points per game. Davis' 11.6 points per game is the highest in the Mountain West among players who play predominantly off the bench.
  • Davis is averaging 13.3 points per game in conference play which ranks 12th in the Mountain West. Davis' 2.0 threes per game in conference play is tied for sixth in the Mountain West.
  • Will McClendon is second on the team in scoring, averaging 12.0 points per game. He has scored double-figures in 17 out of 24 games played this season.
  • McClendon leads the Spartans with 45 made threes on the season. His 1.88 threes per game is good for eighth in the Mountain West. In conference play, McClendon is averaging 2.08 threes per game which is the fifth most in the Mountain West.
  • Robert Vaihola leads the team in rebounding with 6.9 boards per game which is also good for fifth in the conference. Vaihola's 2.4 offensive rebounds per game also ranks third in the Mountain West.
  • Vaihola recorded a career-high seven blocks against Air Force (2/1/25). Seven blocks in a game is the most recorded by any player in the Mountain West this season.
  • Vaihola's average of 1.56 blocks per game in conference play is second in the Mountain West.
  • Sadaidriene Hall leads the Spartans in steals with 30 recorded on the season.
  • Hall recorded a career-high 33 points and 14 made field goals in the Spartans' overtime win vs. Cal Poly (12/14/24). He also notched 11 rebounds, giving him his first double-double of the year.
  • Hall is one of two players in the Mountain West to hit 14 field goals in a game this season (Donovan Dent, New Mexico).
  • The Spartans’ have recorded nine double-doubles on the season (two by Vaihola, two by Hall, two by Sadraque NgaNga, two by Uduje and one by McClendon).
  • Donavan Yap scored a season-high 22 points and made a career-high six threes against No. 25 Utah State (1/7/25). 
  • NgaNga recorded 11 points and 11 rebounds vs. UNLV (1/4/25), earning his second double-double of the season despite only playing 18 minutes in the game.
