STOCKTON, Calif. – Sarah Deplitch hit her third home run of the season while Aneesa Almaguer hit her first career triple to lead San José State softball (8-9, 0-0 MW) in a 3-0 game one loss against BYU (12-4, 0-0 Big 12) and a 9-0 six-inning game two win over host Pacific (7-7, 0-0 WCC) at the Libby Matson Tournament from Bill Simoni Field on Friday.
Game One vs. BYU
- Jules Ronquillo went 2-for-3 with two singles
- Ahmiya Noriega was 1-for-3 with a single
- Taylor Chillingworth went 1-for-3 with a single
- Carly Cummings finished 1-for-2 with a single
- Lacie Ham got the start and put up a strong effort going 5.0 innings pitched with four strikeouts, one earned run and only gave up two hits.
- Ham now has five starts over five innings so far this season.
Game Two vs. Pacific
- Deplitch finished game two 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBIs, and two runs scored.
- Deplitch now has three home runs on the season and for her career.
- Deplitch's three RBIs also set a new career high for the freshman.
- Deplitch now has two home runs in her last three games.
- Aneesa Almaguer finished 1-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs, and one run scored.
- Almaguer's triple is the first of her career.
- Her two RBIs tied her career-high.
- Jules Ronquillo had a perfect game two at the plate, going 3-for-3 with three singles, one RBI, and two runs scored.
- Ronquillo's four hits ties her career high.
- This is Ronquillo's first three-hit game since she had three hits against Pacific during the 2022-23 season.
- Shay McDowell went 1-for-3 with a single, a walk, one run scored, and two RBIs
- This is McDowell's second multi-RBI game this season.
- Taylor Chillingworth finished 1-for-3 with a double and one RBI
- Chillingworth now has a hit in three consecutive games.
- Aubrie Thomas went 2-for-4 with a single, double, and one run scored.
- Thomas has three multi-hit games so far this season.
- Ahmiya Noriega was 1-for-4 with a single and one run scored.
- Carly Cummings went 1-for-2 with a single, walk and one run scored.
- Mia Reynolds got the start in the circle going the complete game with 6.0 IP, five strikeouts, and only giving up two hits.
- Reynolds' complete game is her second of the season and tenth of her career.
