KOHALA COAST, Hawai‘i – Zubair Firdaus shot a 71 (-1) to lead San José State in the second round of the Amer Ari Invitational hosted by the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo from the Mauna Lani Resort Golf Club on Friday.
- Firdaus is in 49th place heading into the final round with a 140 (-4)
- Ivan Barahona bounced back Friday to shoot a 72 (E)
- Avinash Iyer hit the second eagle for the Spartans on the 15th hole this tournament and has a 148 (+4) for the tournament
- Keshav "KC" Mungali has shot 143 (-1) over the first two rounds, which is good for 68th place
- Marlon Jones has shot 148 (+4) over the first two days as an individual
- The Spartans as a team had five birdies on the second hole and had four birdies and an eagle on the 15th hole on Friday
- SJSU as a team is in 18th place with a -1
