STOCKTON, Calif. – Aneesa Almaguer hit her second home run of the season while Haley Reeve had two hits, and Aubrie Thomas had an RBI double to lead San José State softball (8-10, 0-0 MW) in a 14-3 loss against BYU (13-4, 0-0 Big 12) on the second day of the Libby Matson Tournament from Bill Simoni Field on Saturday morning.

  • Almaguer finished 2-for-4 with a home run, a single, one RBI, and one run scored. 
  • Almaguer’s home run is her second of the season and of her career. 
  • Almaguer now has three multi-hit games so far this season.
  • Almaguer is third on the team with nine RBIs in the early season. 
  • Reeve finished 2-for-3 with two singles. 
  • Reeve also now has three multi-hit games this season.
  • Thomas ended the day 1-for-3 with an RBI double, a walk, and one run scored.
  • Thomas now has four doubles on the season.
  • Thomas leads the team with nine walks so far this season. 
  • Carly Cummings went 1-for-3 with a single and a run scored.
  • Cummings has hit safely in her last four games.   
  • Jules Ronquillo went 1-for-4 with a single.   
  • Ronquillo now has a hit in four straight games. 
  • Mia Reynolds got the start in the circle ringing up four strikeouts 
  • Ava Conti made a relief appearance notching two strikeouts
  • Bella Rodriguez made a relief appearance.
