SAN JOSE, Calif.—Three different Spartan pairs recorded points on Saturday as the San José State beach volleyball team fell twice at the Battle of the Bay at Spartan Beach.
- The Spartans fell to Saint Mary’s, 4-1, in the first dual.
- Shirley Morrison and Elon Milroy recorded the only Spartan point against the Gaels, needing three sets for the victory, 19-21, 21-10, 15-13.
- In the second dual of the day, the Spartans and UC Davis were tied 2-2, and the deciding point came down to Morrison and Milroy’s match at the fifth position.
- Sabrina Moore and Randi Reeves got the Spartans on the scoreboard with a three-set win, 14-1, 21-18, 15-12.
- Alexandra Dale and Anna Salmon gave SJSU a 2-1 lead with a 16-21, 21-17, 15-11 win.
- Tied at 2-2, Morrison and Milroy went three sets before falling, 17-21, 21-19, 15-13.
UP NEXT – The Spartans play two duals in Sacramento next Saturday, March 8. The team faces Pacific at noon followed by Sacramento State at 2 p.m.
