SAN JOSE, Calif. – Aubrie Thomas and Reina Zermeno both had multi-hit games, while Taylor Chillingworth hit her first career triple to lead San José State softball (9-12, 0-0 MW) in a 5-3 midweek loss against Boston College (10-5, 0-0 ACC) from Spartan Softball Complex on Wednesday night.

  • Thomas finished 2-for-3 with two singles, an RBI sac fly, and a run scored.
  • Thomas now has four multi-hit games this season. 
  • Thomas now has a four-game hit streak going. 
  • Zermeno finished the game 2-for-3 with two singles, and a run scored.
  • Zermeno now has a hit in three consecutive games. 
  • Zermeno has seven multi-hit games on the season so far.  
  • Chillingworth ended up 1-for-2 with a triple, a run scored
  • Chillingworth’s triple is the first of her career for the redshirt freshman.  
  • Chillingworth now has five extra-base hits on the season and for her career. 
  • Ahmiya Noriega went 1-for-3 with a single 
  • Noriega set a new single-game season high with four assists in the infield.
  • Carly Cummings went 1-for-3 with a single 
  • Cummings has a hit in five of her last six games.  
  • Taylor Squires tallied her first hit of the season with a pinch-hit single. 
  • Jules Ronquillo drew a walk 
  • Ronquillo has reached base safely in her last seven games.  
  • Shay McDowell drew a walk 
  • Lacie Ham got the start in the circle, going 5.1 innings with two strikeouts while giving up three hits. 
  • The Spartans left nine runners on base in this game to go with their eight hits as a team.  

UP NEXT: The Spartans will host the Silicon Valley Classic II tournament with games against Santa Clara and Princeton. Game one will be on Saturday, March 8, against Santa Clara, with the first pitch scheduled for 12:00 p.m. PT from Spartan Softball Complex.
