SACRAMENTO, Calif.—Elon Milroy and Shirley Morrison went 2-0 on Saturday as they swept their matches and helped the San José State volleyball team to a 1-1 day at the Hornet Beach Bash hosted by Sacramento State.

  • The Spartans started the day sweeping all five matches in the 5-0 dual victory over Pacific.
  • Milroy and Morrison won 21-13, 21-11, against the Tiger pair.
  • San José State then faced host Sacramento State, falling 3-2 as the dual came down to the final match.
  • Sabrina Moore and Kiara Edwards got the first Spartan point with a 24-22, 21-19 win.
  • Milroy and Morrison gave SJSU its second point with a 21-14, 21-7 win.
  • The final pair, Kylee Moore and Jordan Hickerson, took the deciding match to three sets, falling 21-19, 24-26, 16-14.

UP NEXT – The Spartans travel to San Luis Obispo next weekend, March 15-17, for the Mustang Classic. The team faces No. 6 Cal Poly and No. 17 Washington on Saturday, UC Davis and No. 16 Grand Canyon on Sunday, and Houston Christian and Boise State on Monday.
