Spartans Win Twice at NOLA Classic

NEW ORLEANS—Three Spartan pairs went 2-0 on the day as the San José State beach volleyball team picked up wins against McNeese State and Southeastern Louisiana in the first day of the NOLA Classic, hosted by Tulane.

  • In the first dual of the day, SJSU won 4-1 over McNeese State.
  • Kiara Edwards and Sabrina Moore needed three sets for their first win of the day – 21-16, 18-21, 15-5.
  • Jada Hall and Randi Reeves also went three sets in their win – 21-18, 19-21, 15-8.
  • Kylee Moore and Anna Salmon, in the third position, won 21-12, 21-19.
  • Elon Milroy and Shirley Morrison also won in straight sets, 21-18, 21-10.
  • The dual against Southeastern Louisiana was tied 2-2, and came down the top pairs’ match and went three sets before Edwards and Moore were victorious, 25-23, 14-21, 15-11.
  • Hall and Reeves posted the first Spartan point with a 21-17, 21-17 victory.
  • Salmon and Kylee Moore needed three sets for the second SJSU point, 17-21, 21-18, 15-13.
  • The Spartans improve to 12-16 on the season.

UP NEXT – The team continues play at the NOLA Classic on Saturday, facing Florida Atlantic at 8:30 a.m. CT/6:30 a.m. PT, followed by host Tulane at 1:30 p.m. CT/11:30 a.m. PT.
