12 Spartans Earn Outdoor All-Mountain West Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Emilia Sjostrand, Christopher Coats, and Deshawn Banks lead 12 San José State track and field athletes awarded 2025  Outdoor Track and Field All-Mountain West honors as announced by the conference on Wednesday. 

The Spartans finished the 2025 Mountain West Outdoor Championships with 13 medals overall, four golds, five silvers, and five bronzes. The Spartans earned All-Mountain West honors in the Women's 4x100 Relay, Triple Jump, Long Jump, High Jump, and 100m Hurdles as well as the Men’s 110m Hurdles, 200m Dash, 400m Dash, High Jump, and Long Jump.  

This is the second consecutive outdoor season that the Spartans have had more than 10 all-conference honorees.

Emilia Sjostrand , Jumps/Sprints, Senior, Stockholm, Sweden/Ostra Reals Gymnasium

  • Won gold in Women’s Triple Jump (13.78m - 45’ 2½”), silver in Long Jump (6.44m - 21’ 1½”), and another silver in the 4x100 Relay (44.91) to earn All-Mountain West honors.
  • For her performances across three events, she was selected as the Women’s Field Performer of the Meet at the 2025 Mountain West Outdoor Track and Field Championships 
  • Capped a legendary collegiate career that includes 11 individual Mountain West titles, 13 individual medals, and two school records

Christopher Coats, Sprints, Junior, Rancho Cucamonga, Calif./Upland HS

  • Won gold in the Men’s 400m Dash (47.22) and bronze in the 200m Dash (20.54) to earn All-Mountain West honors
  • Now has four career Mountain West outdoor championship medals.

Alyssa Bean, Jumps/Sprints, Junior, San Marcos, Calif./Poway HS

  • Won Silver in the Women's 4x100 Relay (44.91) to earn All-Mountain West honors.
  • Bean ran in four races on Championship Saturday, the most events on the day for the Spartans

Deshawn Banks, Jumps, Freshman, Los Angeles, Calif./Birmingham Community Charter HS

  • Won silver in Men's Long Jump (7.45m - 24’ 5½”) as well as bronze in the Men’s High Jump (2.09m - 6’ 10¼”) to earn All-Mountain West honors.
  • Banks set a new personal best in the Long Jump and a season best in the high Jump.

Sky Hagan, Hurdles, Sophomore, Houston, Texas/Houston Benjamin Davis

  • Won bronze in the Women's 100m Hurdles (13.47) to earn All-Mountain West honors.
  • Hagan has now medaled in this event for two consecutive outdoor seasons

Eve Divinity, Jumps/Sprints, Junior, Redondo Beach, Calif./Redondo Union HS

  • Won silver in the Women's 4x100 Relay (44.91) to earn All-Mountain West honors.
  • Divinity now has two Mountain West Outdoor medals in the 4x100 Relay and three medals overall.

Katharina Graman, Jumps/Sprints, Sophomore, Stockholm, Sweden/Sparvägens FK

  • Won gold in Women's Long Jump (6.47m - 21’ 2¾”) to earn All-Mountain West honors.
  • Graman’s personal best mark moved her to No. 2 all-time in the SJSU Outdoor Record Book for Women’s Long Jump.

Simone Johnson, Jumps, Graduate Student, Fresno, Calif. / Central HS / Auburn

  • Won silver in Women's Triple Jump (13.15m - 43’ 1¾”) to earn All-Mountain West honors.
  • This was Johnson’s third career Mountain West outdoor medal in this event.

  • Won bronze in the Men’s 110m Hurdles (14.00) to earn All-Mountain West honors.
  • This is the first Mountain West medal of Laing’s career.

  • Won Silver in the Women's 4x100 Relay (44.91) to earn All-Mountain West honors.
  • McCuller now has two Mountain West outdoor medals in this event.

Lina Schubert, High Jump, Senior, Regensburg, Germany / Johann-Michael-Fischer Gymnasium

  • Won silver in Women's High Jump (1.75m - 5’ 8¾”) to earn All-Mountain West honors.
  • Schubert’s mark is a season-best, and she now has two Mountain West outdoor medals in her career.

  • Won gold in Men's 200m Dash (20.54) to earn All-Mountain West honors.
  • Tarver has now won a Mountain West outdoor medal in this event for three years in a row.
