LOUISVILLE, Ky.- San José State softball proudly placed 12 student-athletes on the 2024-25 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete list. This marks a continued academic achievement for the program, which saw an increase from last season’s total of nine honorees.
The Spartans recognized include:
Taylor Chillingworth, Ava Conti, Carly Cummings, Sarah Deplitch, Lacie Ham, Kaylani Lim, Shay McDowell, Lalaina Moore, Gigi Ortega, Mia Reynolds, Taylor Squires, and Aubrie Thomas.
To qualify for the prestigious honor, student-athletes must achieve a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher during the 2023-24 academic year.
“This recognition speaks volumes about the dedication our student-athletes bring to both the classroom and the field,” said head coach Tammy Lohmann. “We are incredibly proud of their commitment to excellence and the example they set for our program.”
The Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete award is one of the most distinguished academic honors in collegiate softball, celebrating student-athletes who balance academic rigor with athletic success.
Taylor Chillingworth, UTL, 5-11, Fr-R., Adelaide, Australia/St. Aloysius
- Second season in a row earning Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors
- Made 42 appearances and started 38 games
- Tallied 14 hits, seven runs, eight RBIs, 22 total bases
Ava Conti, P/UT, 5-8, So., Redwood City, Calif./Carlmont HS
- Second season in a row earning Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors
- Played in 15 games
- ERA of 4.27 is career best
Carly Cummings, OF, 5-4, So., San Jose, Calif./St. Francis HS
- Second season in a row earning Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors
- Played in 45 games and started in 43
- Tallied 14 runs, 26 hits, eight RBIs, 26 total bases, and a .234 average
Sarah Deplitch, C, 5-9, Fr., Livermore, Calif./Granada HS
- First season at SJSU
- Played 34 games and started in 19
- Had three home runs, seven runs scored, 14 hits, and 12 RBIs
Lacie Ham, RHP, 5-10, Sr., Murrieta, Calif./Murrieta Mesa HS
- Second season in a row earning Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors
- All-Mountain West Honorable Mention (2025)
- Collected her 300th career strikeout against Nevada (4/13)
Kaylani Lim, INF, 5-8, Fr., San Jose, Calif./Silver Creek HS
- First season at SJSU
- Made 10 appearances and started in six
- Tallied three hits, two RBIs, five total bases
Shay McDowell, UTL, 5-6, Jr., Roseville, Calif./Roseville HS/Oregon State
- Second consecutive season earning Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors
- Started and played in 48 games
- Led the team in RBIs with 28 and finished the season with a .280 avg, .420 slg, and .329 OBP
Lalaina Moore, UTL, 5-10, Fr., Arcadia, Calif./Arcadia HS
- First season at SJSU
- Did not play in a game
- Played four seasons at Arcadia HS

- Second consecutive season earning Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors
- One of two players who started and played in every game this season (50)
- Tied team lead in runs at 31 and tied for most home runs at six
