SAN JOSE, Calif.—The San José State women’s water polo program has collected academic awards over the month for their successes in the classroom.
Jennine Osorio was named to the College Sports Communicators Women’s At-Large Academic All-District team in June. She was one of six Spartan student-athletes to receive the honor.
Recently, 12 Spartans were recognized as champions in the classroom as they were named to the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-Academic teams. To receive the honor, players maintained a 3.20 or higher cumulative gpa. The team had two players honored as Outstanding (3.71-4.00 gpa), seven as superior (3.41-3.70 gpa) and three as excellent (3.20-3.40 gpa).
Catie Kelly earned her third recognition, while Mackenzy Clark, Renee Fleming, Rose Jensen, Jennine Osorio, Grace Smith and Darcy Spark all earned their second honor.
Four Spartans earned the honor for the first time in her collegiate career – Jessica Ross, Rachel Williams, Nynke Willemsen and Sarah Woren.
