SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose State women’s soccer team opens up the season with crosstown rival, No. 16 Santa Clara, on Thursday, Aug. 14, at 7:30 p.m. and hosting CSUN on Sunday, Aug. 17, at noon.
The matchup against Santa Clara marks a new era for the Spartans, as this is the opening match for new head coach Sonia Curvelo.
Taejah Aitken, Paige Fry and Leilani White were all named to the 2025 Mountain West Women’s Soccer Watch List entering the season. The Spartans are also welcoming 14 freshmen and 10 transfers.
The last time the Spartans opened up the season with a win was during the 2015 season against Lamar on August 21, winning 3-0.
