The San José State beach volleyball team begins the 2026 season on Friday, Feb. 20, hosting Santa Clara and San Francisco at Spartan Beach. Admission is free to all.
Friday, February 20 Schedule
10 a.m. – San José State vs. Santa Clara
12 p.m. – Santa Clara vs. San Francisco
2 p.m. – San José State vs. San Francisco
The Spartans join the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation for the 2026 season. SJSU is one of 10 teams in the conference – California, Grand Canyon, UCLA, LSU, Oregon, Southern California, Stanford, Texas, Washington and the Spartans.
The MPSF Championship will be contested April 22-24, at Spiker Beach in Huntington Beach, Calif.
San José State finished the 2025 season with a 15-20 overall record, advancing to the consolation championship of the Southland Conference Championship and recording the most wins in school history.
Gary Hodge begins his fourth year as the head coach of the Spartans. He has coached the squad to its most wins in program history each of the last two years, collecting 14 victories in 2024, followed by 15 in 2025.
Randi Reeves and Elon Milroy return for the 2025 season after each recorded 18 wins last season. Reeves, paired with former Spartan and current graduate assistant Jada Hall, received second team All-Southland Conference honors at the No. 2 position last year.
