No. 16 Spartans Fall Short Against No. 5 Arizona State

SAN JOSE, Calif.— Bridget Cranley scored a hat trick to lead the No. 16 San José State women's water polo team (5-8, 0-2 MPSF) in a 21-7 loss against No. 5 Arizona State University (19-2, 1-1 MPSF) on Sunday afternoon at the SRAC. 

  • Following Cranley in scoring efforts, Darcy Spark delivered two goals, as Emma Ruzic and Rachel Williams contributed one apiece. 
  • Jennine Osorio, Mackenzy Clark and Rose Jensen each dished out an assist. 
  • While being persistent in the offense, Cranley drew four exclusions, leading the Spartans on the defensive front. 
  • Ruzic, Sarah Woren and Jensen each drew an exclusion as well. 
  • Along with her two goals, Spark carried out two steals as Clark and Jensen each followed with one. 

UP NEXT: The Spartans will host No. 1 Stanford on Saturday, Feb 28, at 1 p.m. at the SRAC.
