PHOENIX—Allie Cummins and Kaliyah Dillard led the Spartans in scoring and rebounding on Saturday in San José State’s final road game of the regular season at GCU where the team fell 65-52.
- Cummins had a career-high 24 points in the loss, making four three-pointers and going a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line. It was the second time this season that Cummins scored 20+ points.
- Dillard grabbed 10 rebounds to lead SJSU, her third game in four with double-digit boards.
- Katarina Anderson scored a career-high 13 points, going 5-for-11 from the field. She also dished out a team-best four assists.
- Maya Anderson had a team-best four steals to go with nine points and four rebounds.
- The Spartans jumped out to an early 9-2 lead on two Cummins free throws, but fell behind to eand the first quarter behind 14-9.
- Trailing by as many as 18 in the third quarter, SJSU cut the Lopes lead to six at 53-47 on amade Cummins three-pointer with 8:13 left in the game.
UP NEXT – The Spartans play the final home game of the season on Tuesday, March 3, against Colorado State. Tip time is set for 7 p.m., inside the Provident Credit Union Event Center. Seniors Katarina Anderson, Amira Brown and McKenna Simons will be honored prior to the game.
