SAN JOSE, Calif.- Darcy Spark recorded five goals, leading the offense for the No. 17 San José State women's water polo team (6-9, 0-3 MPSF), earning the win in a 15-5 game against Cal State Monterey Bay (7-9, 1-0 WWPA) on Sunday afternoon at the SRAC.
Throughout the entire game, the Spartans stayed in the lead with a 4-0 lead in the first quarter and extended the deficit to 10-2 by halftime. In each quarter, the Spartans outscored the Otters, keeping them in the lead.
- With Spark's five goals, she now leads the team with 54 goals.
- Following in the offensive efforts, Bridget Cranley scored four goals, Sarah Woren recorded a hat trick, Rose Jensen tallied two goals and Jennine Osorio one.
- The offense saw assists from Jensen, Tasaria Kilpatrick, Spark, Emma Ruzic, Osorio, Rachel Williams, Jessica Ross, Sienna Cimoli and Amelia Lukie.
- Contributing to the defense, Osorio, Mackenzy Clark and Taylor Fisher each tallied two steals, while Tatianna Raffin, Ruzic, Woren, Williams, Ross and Cimoli each tallied one steal.
- Raffin had a save percentage of 100% and recorded two blocks, as Sydney Poore recorded three and Larke Eslinger three.
UP NEXT: The Spartans will hit the road and face Cal on Saturday, March 7, at 1:00 p.m. from the Spieker Aquatics Complex.
