SAN JOSE, Calif. – JC Osorio-Agard, Jake McCoy and Rohne Klein all homered to lead the San José State baseball team (22-27, 9-13 MW) in a 12-5 win over Fresno State (14-36-1, 3-18-1 MW) Thursday night from Excite Ballpark in the first game of a three game series.
Fresno State struck first with a two-run opening inning, but San José State wasted little time responding. Peyton Rowles delivered an RBI double before McCoy followed with another run-scoring double to tie the game. Klein later added an RBI single to cap a three-run first inning that immediately swung momentum toward the Spartans.
After the Bulldogs briefly tied the game in the third, Osorio-Agard and Klein each launched solo home runs in the bottom half, while McCoy added a solo shot of his own in the fifth. Osorio-Agard also contributed an RBI double and Rocco Caballero added a two RBI single later in the fifth as San Jose State broke the game open with a four-run frame, making it a 9-5 ballgame.
San José State added insurance in the eighth inning with three more runs, highlighted by a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch to Brent Cota and another RBI from Osorio-Agard.
On the mound, David Thomas (5-5) earned the win after tossing six innings and allowing five runs on seven hits. Luka Pintar closed the door with three scoreless innings to earn the save.

- With the win and losses from UNLV and Grand Canyon, the Spartans are back in a three way tie for the final spot in the Mountain West Tournament
