SAN JOSE, Calif. - Paige Fry tied her season high with eight saves as the San José State women's soccer team (0-4-2) fell 2-0 to Saint Mary's (6-0-3).
Fry recorded five saves in the first half, including a diving effort that prevented the Gaels from scoring a second goal in the 21st minute.
Saint Mary's scored its first goal off a set piece that was just outside the box. The shot found the top right corner of the goal in the 12th minute.
The Gaels scored their second in the 37th minute after a breakaway set up a cross into the box that was finished into the back of the net.
The Spartans outshot the Gaels 6-4 in the second half but were unable to find the back of the net.
- Four different Spartans tested the Gaels' keeper with six shots on goal. Abigail Peterman and Paige Pineda-Aliamus each recorded two shots on goal, while Analise Martins and Charlotte Memoly each recorded one.
- The Spartans recorded a total of nine shots on the day. Indigo Sims, Kiara Anima and Maryam Ladkani each recorded one shot, with Martins, Memoly, Pineda-Aliamus and Peterman accounting for the rest.
- Mercedes Cioffi, Alexi Ames and Memoly each played the entire 90 minutes.
