SEASON TICKETS | 2026 SCHEDULE
- The Spartans look for their sixth home opener win in the last eight seasons.
- This is the first time since 2011 that the Spartans have started the season with two road games.
- The Spartans beat Eastern Michigan 27-21 (09/04/26), which snapped a three-game losing streak to MAC schools, and it was their first win ever at a MAC school.
- Eastern Michigan was 3-for-16 on third downs against the Spartans (09/04/26).
- The win at Eastern Michigan (09/04/26) was the first road win for the Spartans since Nov. 9, 2024, at Oregon State.
- The Spartans finish the season with seven of their last 11 games at home, including four of their last five.
- This is the first 13-game regular season for the Spartans since 2017 and the first time since 2024 that the Spartans will host seven home games, and only the second time since 2006.
- According to Pro Football Focus (PFF), Luke Weaver was the No. 2 graded quarterback in week zero with a 90.4 grade, and after two weeks, he is the No. 26-ranked FBS quarterback in the country with an 81.7 rating.
- Weaver leads the MW and is third in the country with five passing touchdowns and leads the MW and is second in the country with 550 passing yards.
- Against Eastern Michigan (09/04/26), Cooper Hoch had a career day, posting his first two touchdown receptions and 115 receiving yards on five catches. Hoch also had a career-best 51-yard reception.
- According to PFF, Hoch is the 47th highest-graded FBS receiver in the country with a 71.9.
- Jeremiah Tuiileila was named to the PFF Group of Six defensive team after his three tackles, one tackle for loss, and three quarterback hurries at Eastern Michigan (09/04/26).
- Tuiileila is the 10th highest-rated interior defender in the FBS according to PFF with a 79.1 grade.
- Caleb Womack was the No. 4 graded cornerback with a 75.1 grade and was No.1 in defensive tackling with an 84.7 grade in week zero, according to PFF. He is currently the 21st FBS top-graded cornerback in the country with a 76.1.
- As a team, the Spartans have run for 100 yards in each of their first two games of the season. Last season, it took until the third game for the Spartans to reach 100 or more yards rushing in a game, and they did it seven times overall a year ago.
- Jabari Bates ran for 119 yards on 20 carries at Eastern Michigan (09/04/26). It was his second career game going over 100 yards and first of the season.
- Bates is the 39th highest-rated FBS running back in the country, according to PFF, with a 68.4 grade.
- Trajan Sinatra was named MW Special Teams Player of the Week (09/07/26) after his two field-goal performance (49 and 45) at Eastern Michigan (09/04/26) (Story). Sinatra is 3-for-3 on field goals and 4-for-4 on PATs this season.
- Sinatra is the first SJSU kicker to be named MW Special Teams Player of the Week since Matt Mercurio in 2019.
- Weaver had a historic passing performance at Eastern Michigan (09/04/26), throwing for 316 yards and three touchdowns in the Spartans’ 27-21 win over EMU. Weaver became the first opposing quarterback to throw for more than 300 yards and three touchdowns at Rynearson Stadium since 2014.
- Weaver found nine different receivers in the win over Eastern Michigan (09/04/26).
- SJSU has won its last six games vs FCS opponents, including a win over Cal Poly.
- The Spartans have recorded a takeaway in 22 of 27 games under Ken Niumatalolo.
