SAN JOSE, Calif. - Jabari Bates scored his first touchdown of the season and Dylan Lee recorded his second career interception to lead San José State (3-3, 1-1 MW) in a 16-13 loss in the first overtime to Wyoming (3-3, 2-1 MW) on Friday night at CEFCU Stadium, presented by Rotten Robbie.
The Spartans built a 13-6 lead through three quarters behind a touchdown run from Bates and two field goals by Trajan Sinatra. Bates led San José State on the ground with 69 yards and a touchdown, while quarterback Luke Weaver completed 26 of 38 passes for 251 yards.
Wyoming tied the game early in the fourth quarter with a touchdown, and neither team scored on subsequent drives, forcing overtime. In overtime, the Spartans received the ball first and threw an incompletion on fourth-and-one, turning the ball over on downs. The Cowboys would then knock through a 21-yard field goal to secure the victory.
Carson Clark led the Spartans with eight receptions for 91 yards, while Jerry McClure added five catches for 54 yards and Cooper Hoch recorded four receptions for 53 yards. Defensively, Tuli Tagovailoa-Amosa and Lee each finished with nine tackles, and San José State totaled six sacks. Wyoming went 3-for-15 on third downs and 5-for-6 on fourth downs.

- Clark’s 91 receiving yards set a new career-high
