AT SJSU: Completed four years as a Spartan... A 2012-13 Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholars honoree... Four-time academic all-conference award recipient and San José State Scholar-Athlete... Named Mountain West Scholar-Athlete for the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons... Specializes in the butterfly and freestyle events.

2014-15: Finished fifth in the 100 fly and third in the 200 fly against UC Davis (10/17)... Finished first in the 200 fly and third in the 500 free against UC San Diego and Colorado Mesa (1/4)... Finished third in the 100 fly and second in the 200 fly against Fresno State (1/31)... Placed 23rd in the 100 fly at the Moutain West Championships...

2013-14: Finished third in the 1000 free (11:04.12) against Cal State East Bay ... Placed 19th in the 200 fly (2:06.41) and 29th in the 100 fly (58.19) at the Arena Invitational (11/22)... An Academic All-Mountain West honoree.

2012-13: Swam Top-10 All-Time Best Marks in the 200 fly (9^th, 2:05.31)... Competed in 13 races during the dual match season... Placed second in the 100 fly and 500 free against UC Santa Cruz (11/3)... Finished first in the 200 fly at Cal State East Bay (1/25)... An Academic All-Western Athletic Conference award winner.

2011-12: Swam her top times in the 200 and 100 fly at the WAC Championship with times of 58.34 and 2:07.31, respectively...Competed in two relays against UC Santa Cruz... An Academic All-Western Athletic Conference award winner.

ROSEVILLE HIGH SCHOOL: Swam at Roseville High School in Roseville, Calif., for coach Kelly Capell with Spartans teammate Brooke Hammond...Earned all-league honors in all four years of high school...Held school records in the 100 fly and relays.

KAYLA: Majoring in therapeutic recreation...Enjoys shopping and watching baseball...Aspires to be an occupational therapist...Swam club for the CCA for coach Debbie Walker...A native of Irvine, Calif.
