AT SAN JOSÉ STATE: Completed his fourth season with the Spartans… Played in 148 games in his career, starting in 136.

 Played in 49 games, starting in 47... Started 27 games behind the dish, 13 at left and seven as the designated hitter... Batted cleanup 24 times, the most on the team... Tied for the team lead in triples (2)... Finished second on the team in walks (27), doubles (10) and stolen bases (7)... Finished third on the team in on-base percentage (.376) and slugging percentage (.380)... Hit two home runs on the season against Air Force (4/22) and Grand Canyon (5/9)... Drove in a career-high four RBI against Grand Canyon (5/9)... Stole career-high two bases against Nevada (3/18)... Threw out 10 of 36 would-be stealers... Had a nine game hitting streak (2/18 - 3/10).   

2016: Played in 53 games, starting in 49, with all but one game behind the plate… Started one game at first base… Batted second in the lineup in 45 games… Tied for first in the team in runs (28) and walks (19)… Led the team in sacrifice bunts (9), a mark good for fifth place tie in the Mountain West… Led the Mountain West with 29 runners caught stealing… Collected 52 hits, including 10 doubles… Hit his first career home run, a three-run shot, against Air Force (4/9)… Drew a season-high three walks in the same game against Air Force… Had 14 multiple hit games, including three 3-hit games and one 4-hit game… Went 7-for-11 with three RBIs in the three game series against Cal Poly (4/1-3).

2015: Played in 45 games and started 39, all behind the dish…Split time as the starting backstop over the first month and a half of the season before claiming the everyday duties in early April…Third in the Mountain West with 27 runners caught stealing…Finished fourth on the team with a .262 batting average in 122 at-bats…Collected 32 hits, including five doubles and a triple…Drove in 17 runs and scored 15…Tied for the top spot on the team with a .397 on-base percentage…Drew a club-high 26 walks and was hit by a pair of pitches… First career hit came at LMU (2/14)… Went 2-for-2 with two runs scored, two walks and two RBIs against UNC (2/22)… Posted a 1-for-2 effort with three walks against Stanford (3/3)… Had two hits, including his first career double, against Cal Poly (3/10)… Collected an RBI triple and threw out two runners against Nevada (3/29)… Went 3-for-5 with two RBIs in a win at No. 24 Nevada (4/26).

2014: Started against UC Santa Barbara as the designated hitter, marking his only game played of the season (2/23).

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended San Dieguito Academy in Encinitas, Calif. …A three-time defensive player of the year award winner…Was a first-team All-Valley League player as a sophomore…Hit .299 and was top five in the league in RBIs and home runs as a junior…Hit .276 in 105 at-bats as a senior and was selected to the 2013 second-team All-Avocado East League.

A communication studies major… Aspires to go into commercial real estate after graduation… Enjoys surfing, playing golf and Ping-Pong…His father, Larry, was a professional tennis player and went on to coach the likes of John McEnroe, Andy Roddick, Marcelo Rios and Yevgeny Kafelnikov…His grandfather, John Brodie, was a two-time Pro Bowl selection and 1970 NFL MVP during a 16-year career with the San Francisco 49ers…Nickname is "Spanki"…Born in Palm Springs, Calif. …Now calls Encinitas, Calif., his hometown.
