AT SAN JOSÉ STATE: In his fourth season with the Spartans… Developed into one of the most dependable sluggers on the team during his sophomore campaign.
2017: Started in all 55 games, 53 at first base and two as the designated hitter... Finished the season batting .304 going 6-for-8 in the season's final series against UNLV... For the second year in a row, led the team in batting average (.304), on-base percentage (.397) and hits (62)... Also led the team in slugging percentage (.510), RBI (46), triples (2), homeruns (10), total bases (104), hit by pitch (13), sacrifice flies (7) and multiple RBI games (12)... Reached base in 22 consecutive games (3/11 - 4/15)... hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 13th inning against BYU (2/23)... hit game tying two-run homerun in the bottom of the ninth versus New Mexico (4/9).
2016: Started in 48 of the 49 game played… Played first base in 46 games… Batted cleanup in 41 games… Led the team in batting average (.328), on-base percentage (.383), hits (61) and multiple hit games (17)… Tied for the team lead in RBIs with 26… Second on the team in slugging percentage (.452), home runs (4) and total bases (84)… Had a team-high 12 game hitting streak… Reached base in 24 consecutive games (2/23 – 4/19)… Hit safely in 39 of 49 games… Slugged home runs against UC Irvine (2/19), UNLV (3/4), Grand Canyon (5/3) and San Diego State (5/25)... Season-high four hits against Grand Canyon (5/4)… Drove in season-high three runs against Michigan (3/2).
2015: Appeared in 38 games and started 32, all as the designated hitter…Became one of the Spartans’ most viable power threats…Batted primarily out of the cleanup spot in the lineup…Hit .252 with 16 RBIs in 116 at-bats…Slugged a team-high four home runs…Added three doubles…Tied for second on the team in stolen bases with five…First career hit was an RBI single to center as part of a 2-for-3 day at SDSU (2/27)… Went 1-for-5 with an RBI and run scored versus Stanford (3/3)… Stole the first two bases of his career and went 1-for-2 against Air Force (3/8)… Hit safely in every game of the first Nevada series, including two two-hit games (3/27-3/29)… Went 3-for-3 with two runs scored, a double and four RBIs against San Diego State (4/12)… First career home run was a two-run blast at No. 24 Nevada (4/25)… Homered twice in a span of three pitches against Fresno State (5/2).
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Capistrano Valley High School in Mission Viejo, Calif. …A two-year letterwinner for head coach Bob Zamora…Teammate of fellow Spartan freshman Daniel Harris…Part of a Cougars squad that won the South Coast League crown with an 8-4 conference record in 2014…As a junior in 2013, hit .337 with 15 runs scored, five doubles, one home run and 22 RBIs…Hit .243 with five doubles, two home runs and 20 RBIs in his senior campaign.
