Mikal Berry Season 2015

AT SAN JOSE STATE: In his second season with the Spartans... Was moved from tight end to defensive end for 2014 spring practice... Joined the program for the first time when 2013 fall drills began... Just his third year of organized football.

2013: Finished the season as a redshirt... Spent all his practice time as a tight end prospect.

HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered in football (Coach Ron Gueringer), basketball and track and field at San Gorgonio High in San Bernardino, Calif. ... Did not play football until his senior season... Six catches for 88 yards and a touchdown in nine games... Was named his team[apos]s Defensive Player of the Year twice in basketball... His 71 blocked shots are a single-season school record... Had three games his senior season with seven or more blocked shots including a single-game career best 10 against Miller High on December 10, 2012... Was a high jumper, long jumper and triple jumper on the track and field team.
