Marc Baker is in his first season as the San José State University coordinator of player personnel. He took over those duties in the spring of 2015.
Baker is in his third season with the Spartans. In 2014, he was a graduate assistant working with the defensive linemen. Joing the Spartans in 2013, he was a staff assistant with responsibilities connected to football operations and the defensive unit's players and coaches.
His college football career began at the College of San Mateo in 2009. As a freshman, Baker was a member of the 2009 College of San Mateo team that advanced to the California Community College state championship for the only time in school history. As a sophomore, he was a second-team All-Coast Conference offensive lineman and a recipient of the team's 2010 Bulldog Award as the player who best represented the program in all areas.
Baker then played two seasons at Menlo College. He was named the team's Offensive Academic Player of the Year in 2011. As a senior, Baker was named a team captain, was the team's "Most Inspirational Offensive Player of the Year" award winner and earned a NAIA?Daktronics Scholar-Athlete Award.
A business management major with a concentration in sports management at Menlo College, he graduated in 2013 with cum laude honors. His professional experiences include working the 2013 SAP Open men's tennis tournament in San Jose as the Players' Lounge &?Hotel Assistant.
Baker is pursuing a master's degree in kinesiology with a sports management concentration at San José State.
