Mike Machado is his third season with the San Jose State University football staff and his second as a graduate assistant. He will be working with the coaches on the offensive side of the ball and the quarterbacks, specifically.
Machado joined the Spartans in 2019 as a volunteer and had responsibilities with the team's tight ends and special teams units.
The 2019 graduate of Lewis and Clark College majored in rhetoric and media studies. The football and baseball student-athlete was a quarterback on the Pioneers’ football team for four seasons and pitched and played shortstop as a senior. Machado was named to the National Football Foundation’s Hampshire Honor Society in 2019.
The Santa Clara, Calif., native was a 2014 first-team All-West Catholic Athletic League quarterback for Valley Christian High in San Jose, Calif. After his senior season, he was named his team’s Co-Most Valuable Player on offense and concluded his high school career playing in the Charlie Wedemeyer All-Star Classic at Levi’s Stadium.
