Reis Seggebruch is entering his second season with the San José State University football coaching staff as a graduate assistant. In his first season with the Spartans, he worked with the defensive coaches.
Seggebruch began his coaching career at St. Thomas Catholic High School in Houston, Texas in 2019. As the linebackers coach, the Eagles won two TAPPS Division I District 3 titles and advanced to the 2019 semifinal round of the state championship.
The 2019 graduate of Cornell University majored in mechanical engineering. He was a linebacker on the 2015 through 2018 Big Red football teams. Seggebruch was credited with 198 tackles in three varsity seasons. As a 2018 senior, he was elected team captain, was named an honorable mention All-Ivy League selection, and received the team’s Most Valuable Player award at the end of the season.
The Tomball, Texas native also served on the Cornell University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and was named to the Red Key Service Organization - the university’s athletics honor society.
