Heather (Limosnero) Gallegos was appointed the Interim Head Cheerleading Coach in the fall of 2019 and was re-appointed as Head Cheerleading coach in the fall of 2019 following the USA Collegiate Championships where San Jose State placed first in Small Coed Four-Year for the first time since 2015.
Prior to her appointment at San Jose State, Gallegos coached at California High School in San Ramon, California. She coached her first season 2016 as the JV Game Day and Competition coach. After her first season, she was appointed as the Varsity Game Day, Competition and Stunt the Sport Tumbling Coach, which she held from fall 2017 through spring 2019.
In addition to coaching the SJSU Cheer Team, Coach Gallegos is a San Jose State University Alumna and former Spartan Cheerleader. During her time with the program, SJSU won back-to-back championships at the USA Collegiate Championships in 2014 and 2015. Gallegos studied in communication studies and women's studies during her undergraduate.
Gallegos' background includes six years as a cheerleading camp instructor for a full-service cheerleading company. She became a head instructor in her second year with the company, and in her fifth year, she became a director. Additionally, she has led camps and clinics for youth to college athletes/programs and also has served as a panel judge for youth to high school competitions.
