Wendy Caragher completed her second season as the San José State University women's tennis volunteer assistant coach in 2014-15.
Caragher served in a similar capacity during the 2010 and 2011 seasons at the University of San Diego. The Toreros finished at No. 67 in the final 2010 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings and No. 30 in 2011, the program's best since 1999.
As a college player, Caragher earned two varsity letters at UCLA. She went on to a professional career and was ranked among the top 500 players in the world. Caragher still competes in Open Singles and Doubles tournaments.
Caragher has teaching and coaching experience with boys and girls and men and women of all ages from her days at the Coronado, Calif., Tennis Center, and is a USPTA-certified coach.
Her husband, Ron Caragher, is the head coach of the San José State University football team. They have three sons, Josh, Ryan and Scott. The Caragher family resides in San Jose.
