2014 VOLLEYBALL: Played in 22 matches and 75 sets...saw her first action of the season against Sacramento State...averaged 1.81 digs and 0.23 aces per set...led the team with nine digs against Grand Canyon...11 digs against Air Force, nine digs at New Mexico and eight digs at Cal Poly, at Utah State and at Boise State... seven digs four times...kills at Fresno State and against Boise State...three assists against Bakersfield, Air Force, Utah State and at San Diego State...three service aces versus Bakersfield, UMass Lowell, at Air Force and in a win over Fresno State.
2014 SAND VOLLEYBALL: Member of the original San Jose State sand volleyball team... Played in the #1 & #2 positions in the lineup... Recorded an 0-10 win loss record evenly divided between #1 and #2.
MONTEREY PENINSULA COLLEGE: Did not play.
HIGH SCHOOL: Three-year letterwinner for the 2012 graduate of Salinas High School...recorded 344 digs her senior year and 340 her junior year...All-Tri-County Athletic League selection...also competed in track and field where she was a sprinter and long jumper.
PERSONAL: Majoring in kinesiology...would like to be a physician's assistant...second-generation San José State student-athlete...mother, Jodi Breding, played on the 1979-82 volleyball teams and was a second team all-conference selection in 1980 and 1982...father, Roy Palassou, set or tied every San José State men's gymnastics individual event record, won the 1984 Nissen Award as the outstanding male senior college gymnast, was a member of the USA Men's Gymnastics team and is enshrined in the San José State University Sports Hall of Fame...Jena McKenzie Palassou was born on July 17, 1994, in Monterey, Calif.
