Darren Coelho, a San José State University athletics staff member since 2001, is the Assistant Athletics Director for Ticket Operations. He is responsible for all ticketing operations for the Spartan Athletics Department including selling season and individual tickets and all ticket operations on game days. He ensures compliance with all NCAA rules regarding all player-guest admissions and is responsible for road game ticket consignments and any postseason ticketing duties.
Coelho also oversees the ticketing operations for special events in CEFCU Stadium such as international soccer matches.
He is the Mountain West appointee to the Ticket Administrator Committee for the College Football Playoff Expansion and a Mountain West representative to the National Association of Athletic Ticket Sales & Operations (NAATSO). He is also a member of the board of directors of the Bay Area Professional Ticketing Association (BAPTA) and previously served on two boards for the International Ticketing Association (INTIX).
Coelho joined the Spartans as the athletics ticket manager. In 2005, he was named director of ticket operations and was promoted to an assistant athletics director in 2008. At San José State, he also served as the ticket manager for the 2001 through 2004 Silicon Valley Football Classic bowl games and the 2007 and 2010 NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship games played in San Jose, Calif. Coelho's experience in ticketing dates back to 1997 when he was named ticket manager for the San Jose SaberCats of the Arena Football League.
The 1996 San José State University graduate majored in public relations. Coelho and his wife, Mariza, were married in 2018. He is the father of twins Jackson and Madison and stepfather to Sean and twins Seth and Samantha.
