Janet Lin Craft enters her first full year working as an Athletic Trainer at SJSU providing care to
swim/dive and her 12th year as a certified athletic trainer working primarily at the Yoshihiro Uchida Hall
Sports Medicine Clinic. Janet brings patient centered care experience from previously working in military
medicine, physical therapy clinic, and working with club teams.
Prior to starting at SJSU, Janet served as Senior Woman Administrator and assistant director of sports
medicine at LaGrange College (Georgia) who competes in 16 sports at the NCAA Division 3 level.
Her six years at LaGrange College was highlighted with winning, “Staff of the Year” (2022) in the
athletics department, Georgia Athletic Trainers’ Association “Young Professional of the Year” (2019)
and three conference titles with the LaGrange College baseball team.
A native of San Francisco, Janet earned a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology training with a minor
in psychology from Fresno State University in 2011. She received a master's in Kinesiology and health
studies with a focus on sports psychology from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2014 and is currently
pursuing a Doctorate in Athletic Training through Florida International University.
She holds additional training in: Kinesiology taping, mental-health first aid, individual crisis intervention,
inter department relationship building, protections for children against predators, and various DEIA
programming.
Janet has presented at state, regional and national conferences on "Psychological First Aid in the
Collegiate Setting" and "Guillain Barre Syndrome: Rare but Serious."
She has serves as the Georgia Athletic Trainers’ Association- Ethnic Diversity Advisory Committee Chair
and the Southeast Athletic Trainers’ Association Career Advancement Committee Chair.
