Justin Honda joined the sports medicine staff at San José State University in February 2021.
Honda primarily works with the Women’s soccer team and Cheer and Dance team. Honda has
worked with the San José State Men’s Water Polo team in spring 2021.
Justin Honda achieved his Bachelor of Science Degree with minors in Public Health and
Leadership from Oregon State University in June 2017. Honda then went to San José State
University to complete his Master of Arts in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training
completing this degree in May 2019.
While completing his Master’s degree, Honda worked as a graduate assistant at Menlo College
working primarily with the softball and men’s wrestling teams. After graduation, Honda became
an assistant athletic trainer at Menlo College until July 2020.
Justin Honda worked briefly at Golden Hills Physical Therapy from August 2020 through
February 2021 working on the foundations of his rehabilitation philosophy.
Justin Honda holds memberships with the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA). He
is certified by the Board of Certification, Inc. (BOC) for athletic trainers and Level 1Blood Flow
Restriction Training. Justin Honda is trained in Dynamic Release Therapy using Técnica
Gavilán. He is certified in CPR/AED for professional rescuer and health care provider. He also is
a member of the National Eagle Scouts Association through the Boy Scouts of America.
