Upcoming game: San José State vs. Wyoming, Homecoming Saturday, October 26, 2013, Spartan Stadium, San José, Calif., 4:00 p.m. (PDT) ROOT Sports

San José State record: 3-3, 2-1 Mountain West. The Spartans won have their first winning streak of the season with back-to-back road wins at Hawai'i, 37-27, on October 5, and a 34-27 triumph at Colorado State on October 12.

Wyoming record: 4-3, 2-1 Mountain West. The Cowboys lost to Colorado State, 52-22, on October 19.

Play-by-Play Radio Coverage: KLIV (1590 AM, San José) originates San José State football broadcasts. Justin Allegri is the play-by-play voice. Kevin Richardson offers commentary. The network affiliate is KION (1460 AM/101.1 FM, Salinas). The Wyoming broadcast begins at 3:30 p.m. (PDT).

KSJS (90.5 FM, San Jose) also will broadcast the Wyoming game. Air time for the pregame show is 3:45 p.m. (PDT).

Television: The San José State-Wyoming game will be televised nationally by the ROOT Sports Network. Mark Neely will call the action. Sed Bonner will provide commentary and analysis. Air time is 4:00 p.m. (PDT). ROOT Sports is available to subscribers of DirecTV on Channel 683 and DISH Network on Channel 414.

San José State-Wyoming series: Wyoming leads the series, 6-1. The two teams are facing each other for the first time since Wyoming posted a 30-10 victory on September 20, 1997 in Laramie. San José State's only win in the series was a 26-24 triumph in Laramie on October 3, 1992. The game ended on a 60-yard game-winning field goal by Joe Nedney of the Spartans. At the time, it was the second longest game-winning field goal converted off of a grass playing field. The 2013 game marks the second time Wyoming is San Jose State's Homecoming opponent. The Cowboys won the 1959 game, 28-7.

San Jose State Homecoming Record: San Jose State has a 45-29-2 record in 76 Homecoming football games. The Spartans' first Homecoming game was in 1933.

Striving for a perfect October: With a victory over Wyoming, San José State can finish October with a 3-0 win-loss record. There are 12 previous seasons in which the Spartans did not lose a game in October. The most recent are the 1987 (5-0), 1986 (4-0), 1981 (3-0) and 1979 (4-0) seasons. In a five season span from 1937 through 1941, San Jose State was 20-0-3 in the month of October.

Long-distance TDs:  The Colorado State win on October 12 marked the first time since the 2004 season a San Jose State team scored three touchdowns in a game 60 yards or longer.

Big plays on offense in 2013:  This season, the Spartans have 17 plays of 30 or more yards. Six of them including one kickoff return of 45 yards by Tim Crawley came at Hawai'i and five others at Minnesota. The passing combination of Fales to wide receiver Chandler Jones accounts for seven of the 17 long-yardage plays in 2013.

Winston matches San José State freshman mark: Tyler Winston became the first San Jose State freshman since Brian Lundy in 1992 to record consecutive 100-plus yard receiving games. Winston had six receptions for 159 yards and a touchdown in the Hawai'i win and followed up with eight catches for 151 yards and a touchdown at Colorado State. Lundy is the only San Jose State freshman with three 100-plus yard receiving games since freshman eligibility was reinstated in 1972.

Ground game productive again: San José State's average rushing yards a game is at a season-high 119.7 yards per game after gaining 177 yards at Colorado State. In the last three games, San José State is averaging 164.7 rushing yards per game compared to 74.7 yards per game the first three games of the season. The Spartans' season high in rushing came at Hawai'i when the team gained 216 yards on 55 carries.
